Greetings,
Top Story-Election
Results
Election results were met with sadness and
joy as the votes were counted last evening. Here is a
recap of some of the results. Maine: Although Question 1
passed (52%/47%) this campaign significantly advanced the
discussion on marriage and has opened many more doors for us as
the work toward marriage equality continues for all Maine
couples. Kalamazzo: This is the second time this
year that municipal voters have had the opportunity to affirm
their belief in treating people fairly and equally, including
gay and transgender people. (65%/35% vote upheld non
discrimination ordinance) We congratulate and thank the people
of Kalamazoo for their hard work.
Washington State: Results for Referendum 71
may not be known for a few days because ballots in Washington
State do not have to be received by Election Day, only
postmarked by Election Day. Numbers reported last night might
not indicate the final result or trend. The Approve 71 Campaign
will continue to monitor the results as they come in. Current
standing is (51%/48%)
Phoenix Council District 6 Runoff: SAL
DiCiccio defeats Dana Marie Kennedy (55%/44%)
Tucson City Council Results: Ward 3 Karen
Uhlich 2,395 Ben Buehler-Garcia 1,205 Ward 5 Richard Fimbres
1,979 Shaun McClusky 456 Ward 6 Nina Trasoff 3,509 Steve
