Safe Schools Campaign

Send a message to your representatives in Salem--tell them youth can't wait one more day for protection from bullying in Oregon schools. We need to protect our youth from the sting of harassment that too often goes unchecked. The time has come to ensure that no more students feel like they don't fit in. Please join us in sending this message to Oregon lawmakers!

Subject: Please Vote Yes on HB2599

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

HB2599 would reduce the bullying and harassment youth experience every day in Oregon schools. As your constituent, I am writing to strongly urge you to support HB2599.

1 in 10 students who drop out of high school do so as the result of repeated and unchecked bullying, and 41% of middle school students have experienced harassment in the last 30 days. Effective programs, like the one proposed in HB2599, can cut bullying in half. Please vote YES on HB2599.

Sincerely,

Background Information

Every day, 160,000 students from across the country stay home just to avoid bullying. And every year, nearly 2 million students are bullied.

Youth can't wait one more day for the Safe Schools Act--and this bill could be voted on in as little as a month. That gives us just 30 days to show legislators just how critical safe schools legislation is. Write your legislator TODAY!
