Greetings,

There are only 19 days left until Election Day. Only 19 days to defend marriage in Maine and keep domestic partnerships in Washington State.

The right wing has taken their California campaign of fear and lies to Maine, where they are attacking fairness in Maine with a ballot measure to repeal marriage equality. But that's not all--just ten miles north of Portland, Washington state is defending their Domestic Partnerships against opponents who just accepted $200,000 from the local version of Focus on the Family.

Our rights are under attack on both coasts. We have already sent $5,000 to our partners in Maine & Washington—will you help us double it?

Polls in both states are too close to call but one thing is clear—we cannot afford another Prop 8.

If Maine turns back this attack, it will be a historic victory with national repercussions—the first time voters approve a gay marriage law.

Like Oregon, Washington has established domestic partnerships—which provide critical protections for same-sex couples.  And opposition groups want to take away even these basic rights. A defeat will set back the marriage equality movement in Washington and the country for years, while emboldening our opponents in Oregon whose attempts to repeal our domestic partnership and non-discrimination laws failed just last year.

That's why Basic Rights Oregon is donating $5000 and asking YOU to match our contribution to defend equality from coast to coast.

To keep up with the other side's onslaught of misleading ads, both Maine's No on 1 campaign and Washington's Approve Ref. 71 campaigns need your support to keep their message of truth and equality on the air.

Please contribute today and let's make sure Maine and Washington know that we are all in this together.

In solidarity,

Jeana Frazzini
