The  Baldwin Amendment would RESTORE gender identity to HR 3685, The new version of ENDA.  

In an unprecedented act, Congressional leadership is moving forward to pass civil rights legislation, HR 3685, that is opposed by the vast majority of organizations within the LGBT community that the bill is intended to protect. The Baldwin Amendment would restore gender Identity to ENDA. ERW will only support HR 3685 if the Baldwin Amendment is adopted.   

HR 3685 is a version the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that does NOT ban discrimination based on gender identity. This bill is presently opposed by over 300 LGBT organizations.  Tens of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and our allies have contacted our members of Congress to express our dismay and to urge Congress only to consider a version of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that will best protect ALL members of our community.
