Write a letter to the editor in your local and regional paper to express support of the Domestic Partnership legislation.

It's important that your local paper hears from you. A letter to the editor is one way to reflect community support for providing basic legal protections to New Mexico same-sex couples and families.

We urge you to write a letter to the editor in your local paper. Letters are always strongest when they are in your own words and share personal experiences. Without domestic partnership legislation, same-sex couples are forced to pay expensive legal fees in order to create a patchwork of basic legal protections, like a durable power of attorney and living wills. 

We encourage you in personal terms to explain why the Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act is good for New Mexico and people in your community.
