I DO support the freedom to marry

To win the freedom to marry in Oregon, we have to run a proactive ballot measure so that Oregon voters can end the exclusion of gay and lesbian couples from marriage.

Please sign the pledge below and ask your friends to do the same. By doing this you will let people know that you support the freedom to marry.

By sending this to your friends and family members they will know not only that you support marriage equality, but you will give them an opportunity to engage their social networks in the cause as well. If they have questions, this pledge can serve as an important opportunity to start a dialog about the freedom to marry with people you know.

Marriage is about committed couples who make a lifelong promise to take care of each other, in sickness and in health.

Only marriage provides the dignity, respect and legal certainty that same-sex couples need and deserve.

I stand ready to support the freedom to marry by talking to friends and family about the importance of marriage equality and the obstacles gay and lesbian families face everyday because they are excluded from the freedom to marry.

In signing this pledge, I add my voice to the hundreds of thousands across the country who are willing to stand up and be counted in support of marriage equality.
