On Wednesday March 11, 2009, House Bill 616 authored by Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Ft. Worth) was voted out of the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence by a vote of 8 - 2.

Your state representative was one of eight members to support a study of the James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Act.
