Keep LGBT Families Together - Support the Reuniting Families Act
The families of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are torn apart every year because our immigration laws discriminate against same-sex couples. NO American should have to choose between family and country.
This month, U.S. Congressman Mike Honda will introduce The Reuniting Families Act (H.R. 6938), a landmark immigration bill that ends harmful practices - such as long visa wait times and discrimination against LGBT families - that prevent loving families from being together.
In an historic move, Congressman Honda has included lesbian and gay couples as part of this remarkable legislation . . . marking the first time in Congressional history that lesbian and gay couples have been included as part of a multi-issue immigration bill.
Please stand with Congressman Honda and LGBT families by urging your elected representative to co-sponsor The Reuniting Families Act.

- Gay and lesbian Americans in binational relationships are forced to make terrible choices: interrupting careers, uprooting children, and leaving aging parents behind in order to be with the person they love.
- According to the U.S. Census, 37,000 gay and lesbian Americans are in binational relationships. Their median age is 38, and 44% of them are raising children. These are mature, committed relationships. They should not have to choose between family and country.
