We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Equality Ohio Action Center.

The short explanation of this alert was:

After days of budget negotiations overshadowing everything else on Capitol Square, the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate have passed the new biennium budget and are officially recessed until September. Although the Equal Housing and Employment Act did not receive a vote on the House floor prior to recess, we have been assured it will be one of the first bills addressed upon the legislators' return in the fall.  Meanwhile - be sure to contact your Representative about their support for the bill while they are in-district for the next two months. Those who oppose this legislation will not rest this summer and neither can we.

We should not take any YES vote for granted.
Even if you have called or written before, we need you to do BOTH again!

Why it is important to do this now?

Never before in Ohio history has there been a vote  on the floor of either the House or Senate on a pro-equality issue.  We are on the verge a historic vote on the floor of the House.

Your call could make make the difference.

Take action now and then ask your friends and family members to do the same. Join with us in strongly declaring that Ohioans deserve to feel safe in their jobs and their communities.
