As you already know, Gov. Paterson has put the marriage bill on the State Senate’s agenda for TODAY, November 10. Just yesterday in his address to the joint session of the legislature, the Governor reiterated his support for our community and his desire to see the marriage bill become law:

“Because justice delayed is justice denied, I am asking both sides of the aisle to take up marriage equality this week. If gay and lesbian couples want to be married, they should be. They are members of our family and more importantly members of the family of New York. I ask you to give them the equal protection of the law and give them this opportunity this week.”

It is vitally important that in the hours leading up to this momentous debate and vote on our family and our lives, we reach out to our Senators and make sure our families are in their thoughts as they head to the Senate floor. We need you to write your State Senator now and let them know that you expect them to take up the marriage bill and vote in support of it.
