Workplace non-discrimination legislation (ENDA) must include sexual orientation AND gender identity.  Contact your U.S. Representative today to keep the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) [HR 2015] transgender inclusive!

Members of Congress are deciding whether or not to move forward with a version of ENDA that does not include gender identity. This revised version of ENDA [HR 3685] would leave millions of Americans vulnerable to workplace discrimination because of their gender identity. 

At Equality Texas, our mission is the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.

Equality Texas has joined with over 90 national and state LGBT organizations united in a common cause: to work for HR 2015, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that protects everyone in the LGBT community, and to oppose any substitute legislation [HR 3685] that leaves anyone behind. 

It is critical that our representatives hear from each of us now, urging them to keep both sexual orientation and gender identity in the bill.  Please urge them to support an ENDA [HR 2015] that is fully inclusive, and let them know that you don't want any member of the LGBT community left behind.

Contact your representative today by calling the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your representative's office. When you reach your Representative's office, you can say:

"Please tell the representative that studies and surveys consistently show that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans suffer employment-related discrimination.  Transgender people, in particular, desperately need the discrimination prohibitions the HR 2015 version of ENDA would provide.  Congress should pass the original version of ENDA [HR 2015] that includes both gender identity and sexual orientation.  I oppose the HR 3685 version of ENDA that does not include both sexual orientation and gender identity."
