Oppose the Repeal!

Stop the repeal of Oregon's domestic partnership and anti-discrimination laws!

It's time to defend equality.

Oregon's domestic partnership law gives committed couples the legal recognition they need to care for one another, especially in a crisis. And our anti-discrimination law means that it is now against the law in Oregon to fire a good employee, evict a good tenant, or deny a customer a table at a restaurant just because they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

Oregon's domestic partnership and anti-discrimination laws ensure that all Oregonians can take care of the ones they love, and live and work free from the sting of discrimination.

But now, an out of state group wants to overturn both laws. Initiative petitions 145 and 146 would put Oregonians in harm's way by repealing our domestic partnership and anti-discrimination laws.

Basic Rights Oregon needs your help to ensure that our fellow Oregonians understand what's at stake. By pledging to oppose efforts to overturn Oregon's domestic partnership and anti-discrimination laws, you are taking a stand for basic fairness for all Oregonians!

Full Petition Text:

Like most Oregonians, I believe that DISCRIMINATION IS WRONG. All Oregonians should be able to take care of the ones they love, and live and work free from discrimination.

I oppose the effort to repeal Oregon's domestic partnership and anti-discrimination laws. I will DECLINE TO SIGN these petitions (petitions 145 and 146).

If either initiative makes the ballot, I pledge to VOTE NO in November, 2008.
