Letters to the editor in support of equalityIowa and Vermont have just made marriage equality legal! Washington is not far behind. Yet we face obstacles in the process, mainly a potential referendum from the radical right. They are not only threatening to overturn marriage equality when it passes, but also domestic partnerships. Our opponents are threatening to repeal our hard-earned rights, and are telling lies in the process. Now is the time for everyone, gay or straight, to say why they support equality for Washington's families. Write a letter to the editor in support of the 2009 domestic partnership expansion bill and marriage equality. If your paper isn't listed in our system, please take a moment to send your letter directly. Please remember to send your letters to your local paper not just state or larger regional papers. It's best to talk in personal terms. Talk about yourself, friends or relatives and what equality would mean to you/them. In addition to writing a letter now, please respond to any letters or articles you see in the paper. And with more and more people reading papers online, don't forget to post comments directly on the websites of newspapers. Thank you for speaking up for equality,
