DC Ice Breakers
DC Ice Breakers is a GLBTQ social group for informal ice skating mainly at the
Kettler Capitals Iceplex above the Ballston Commons Mall in Arlington, VA, followed by a social at a local restaurant, on the first & third Wednesdays of each month year-round.
No membership fee, no sign-up, no RSVP—just show up! Skating is $8. Skate rental is $3.

Federal Triangles to Host Annual Turkey Bowl
The Federal Triangles soccer team will play host to the annual Turkey Bowl soccer tournament on Saturday, November 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Virginia Highlands (Pentagon City Metro).
The Turkey Bowl is co-ed mixed tournament. Please join us again this year (or for the first time)... it's fun & it's free to dues paying members ($5 for non-members) FTSC rents out a quality pitch for a few hours of competitive fun play. Players are grouped with teams, so you have the opportunity to play with a variety of players throughout the day. Then we meet up for dinner & drinks. It's a great social with good soccer & good food. Bring your friends!

Baltimore Pumpkin Fest: Thanksgiving 2008—November 28-30
Charm City Volleyball is excited to be hosting the 2008 thanksgiving tournament
Baltimore Pumpkin Fest initially offers divisions for AA, A, BB and B. Each division will need to have at least four teams paid and confirmed by November 10. If this threshold is not met, the tournament will make the slots available to other divisions. The tournament is capped at 36 teams.
Pool Play will consist of four matches of two games each on Saturday. Double Elimination begins Sunday, November 30. At the conclusion of play, awards and trophies will be presented to Gold, Silver and Bronze finishers as well as All stars and MVPs. More details can be found at www.volleybaltimore.org.

DC to Host the 2010 IGBO Mid-Year Tournament
Washington, DC will host the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO) 2010 Mid-Year Tournament. The official decision was made on November 14 at the IGBO 2008 Mid-Year Tournament in San Diego, CA, by a vote of IGBO representatives from around the country.
The IGBO Mid-Year Tournament annually attracts about 400 bowlers from across North America and several Pacific nations each Veterans Day weekend. It is one of two tournaments IGBO holds every year. Besides bowling, IGBO tournaments are a week full of events. IGBO Board and committee meetings, viewing of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, side tours, social events and many more activities are conducted throughout the tournament week. IGBO's 30th anniversary will be celebrated in 2010, which is sure to add to the excitement of hosting the tournament in the great capital city that we call home. Washington, DC Among Four Finalists to Host 2014 Gay Games
Washington, DC is one of four U.S. cities to make the short list for hosting the 2014 Gay Games. Other cities include Cleveland, Miami and Boston. The 2014 Gay Games host will then be selected by the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) Assembly at its 2009 annual meeting in Cologne, Germany next October. Cologne is the host city for the 2010 games.
In other actions taken by delegates at the 2008 FGG annual meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, Brent Minor, president of Team DC was elected co-chair of the Federation.

Each third Friday of the month at the Green Lantern (L Street between 14th and Vermont, NW) is Team DC Beer Bust night beginning at 8:30 p.m. and features a different club each month. |

Team DC strives to promote excellence, integrity, and good sporting conduct in individual and team sports.
