Privacy Policy

The Equality Federation is a national network of statewide LGBT advocacy organizations. The Equality Federation Institute is the sister organization to the Equality Federation. This privacy policy applies to information collected by both Federation organizations, which will be referred to collectively throughout this policy as "The Federation."

Statewide LGBT advocacy organizations across the country are members of the Equality Federation. As Federation members, these state organizations are part of the Federation family of connected organizations. Each Federation member organization maintains its own privacy policies. If you subscribe to any state organization email lists through the Federation website, your data may be governed by multiple privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of each organization with which you choose to share your personal information.

When you sign up to receive news and information from the Federation or from one of our member organizations, you may also be given the opportunity to subscribe to other email lists available from the Federation network. The Federation respects your privacy and protects your personal information. We do not sell or rent our lists to commercial vendors. However, we may share your name and contact information within our family of organizations, and you may receive an exploratory communication from one of those organizations. You will not be added to additional email lists without your express consent.

The Federation does use aggregate statistical data gleaned from all of our lists and from the lists of our member organizations. Individual contact or personal information will never be shared in the course of compiling or disseminating aggregate data. On occasion, the Federation may choose to share information of interest with you on behalf of other organizations, including our member organizations and our allies. We will not give your personal information to these organizations (except as described in this policy), but you may have the opportunity to sign up for their lists and choose to share your own data with them.  You have the right to remove your name and personal information from Federation lists at any time. All Federation emails will contain instructions for unsubscribing quickly and easily.
