The Pride Texas Brunch features exquisite food and rallies support for equality issues. The 2009 keynote speaker will be Annise Parker, Houston City Controller and 2009 Houston Mayoral Candidate.

The Honorable Annise Parker, City Controller of Houston and one of the first openly-gay elected officials in Texas. Before her election as City Controller, Ms. Parker served six years as a Houston City Councilmember, improving city government and focusing on quality of life issues. Ms. Parker has been an exemplary presence in Houston earning the “Distinguished Local Elected Official Award ” from the Texas Recreation and Park Society, and named one of Houston's 50 Most Influential Women for 2008 by Houston Woman Magazine.
