Greetings and Best Wishes for the New Year!

Join us in the New Year to move forward on our equality initiatives by supporting the work of Equality Texas.

In 2009, we are looking forward to working with our state legislators in the 81st Regular Session of the Texas Legislature.

Please contribute financially to support our advocacy and lobbying efforts by joining Equality Texas' monthly giving program as a member of the Texas Cabinet.  For monthly giving, click here.  For a single gift, please click here.

We have worked throughout 2008 to educate and engage thousands across our great state about equality for Texans of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions.

Through the movie tour of For the Bible Tells Me So, the Equality Project, the Safe Schools Initiative, and our workplace forum discussions, we continued our efforts to bring equality-minded citizens together in Abilene, Amarillo, Brownsville, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Huntsville, Lubbock, Waco, and the major metropolitan areas of Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin.

2009 will bring a strategic focus on issues that we know are important to you.

The staff and boards of directors of Equality Texas and Equality Texas Foundation listened to our members and supporters in the development of a 5-year strategic plan, and we will be working to pass pro-equality legislation in 2009.

With the more bipartisan makeup of the Texas House of Representatives, we are working with legislators to file bills that support safe schools, workplace equality, and nondiscrimination policies.

We are also committing to comprehensive statewide polling on equality issues to better understand the attitudes and positions of all Texans on issues that are important to achieving our equality goals.

Thank you for your support and your generosity.  Every little bit counts and builds a foundation that we can build upon to achieve success for all of us!
