Equality Texas is currently working on critical legislation at the Texas Capitol.  We are working to pass legislation that will create safe schools for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions (Anti-Bullying and Harassment Bill - HB 1323 ) We are also working to pass a Hate Crimes Study Bill so the James Byrd Jr Hate Crimes Act can be effectively enforced across Texas (HB 616) along with competitive insurance benefits for UT-Austin and Texas A & M Faculty and staff  (HB 861)

SLDN is working to repeal "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" so LGBT servicemembers committed to our country and our freedoms can make their sacrifice and serve our country.
