Presentation of Equality Leadership
Award to Mason Marriott-Voss

Mason Marriott-Voss is a young activist known
for his strong voice and leadership on many social justice
issues. Most striking is that he is only 10 years old and
already made an impact on the equality movement.
Mason first appeared at a legislative committee
hearing when he was an infant, spoke at a rally at the Capitol
when he was four, and this spring addressed a crowd of 3,000 at
Austin City Hall to protest California's Proposition 8.
During this Legislative Session, Mason testified
before the House Committee on Public Health in support of
HB 2080, which would provide for accurate
birth certificates for children with same-sex parents.
The Equality Leadership Award is given
to Mason for his outstanding and courageous activism on behalf
of equal rights. |
