Competitive benefits: Good for employers, employees & their families!

Councilmembers want to support partner health insurance, however they are being pressured by opponents who are attempting to impose their religious views on everyone, and who would seek to deny health insurance to partners of city employees.

City Representative Susie Byrd has specifically requested a concrete show of support for partner health benefits.  Click on the Take Action links and send an email to each City Representative demonstrating your support for DP health insurance.

Subject: Competitive benefit plans are good for everyone!

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

Competitive benefit plans are good for everyone: the employer, the employees, and their families.

I URGE YOU TO APPROVE THE CITY BUDGET WITH PARTNER HEALTH INSURANCE.

Competitive benefit plans enable employers to attract and keep talented employees. And, these plans allow employees to keep their families strong.

In 2009, competitive benefit plans include partner health insurance.

Without a regular physician, uninsured people seek care in the emergency room, the most expensive setting they could possibly choose. The cost of caring for the uninsured ends up being paid by cities, counties, taxpayers, employers, and Texans with insurance.

Competitive benefit plans enable employers to attract and keep talented employees. And, these plans allow employees to keep their families strong.

Please ensure that the City can compete for talented employees. Please ensure that City employees can keep their families strong. Please approve the city budget with partner health insurance.

Sincerely,
