Hi, I thought you'd want to know about EqualityMaine's 25th anniversary celebration dinner, which is being held on March 21 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are on sale now at www.equalitymaine.org. It's going to be an incredible chance to reflect on 25 years of progress for Maine's LGBT community. We've come so far since 1984, when EqualityMaine was founded in response to the brutal killing of an openly gay man in Bangor. In addition to talking about the progress that's been made, EqualityMaine will present its annual awards to community leaders who champion equality. They'll also discuss the latest plans for 2009. It promises to be an inspiring, exciting evening. If you'd like to be part of it, get details and tickets at www.equalitymaine.org.
