Greetings,

Host A Volunteer

Hardworking volunteers are taking a week-long "Volunteer Vacation" in October to defeat Question 1.

Can you help out by hosting one in your home?

I've got a problem, but it's a problem I'm excited to have.

Since I told you earlier this week about our Volunteer Vacation Program, we've had dozens of supporters commit to taking a week off from work during October to volunteer full time for the campaign.  Now we just need some space for these volunteers to stay.

Can you host a volunteer in your home for a week of two during October?

We're asking everyone we know to join us in Maine. But folks can't take a week off of work, buy their plane tickets or pay for gas, and then to pay for a hotel room, too -- most people just can't do that. So your guestroom, cold weather-ready camp or in-law apartment is the key to making this all work.

I need housing for volunteers during these weeks:

  • Week #1: Sun, Oct 4 – Sun, Oct 11
  • Week #2: Sun, Oct 11 – Sun, Oct 18
  • Week #3: Sun, Oct 18 – Sun, Oct 25
  • Week #4: Sun, Oct 25 – Wed, Nov 4

This November's election in Maine has become the focal point of  the movement for marriage equality, and both sides will be bringing in their supporters to win the fight. We know the other side is getting big money from out of state -- so for us to be competetive, we need to tap into the energy of the many people around the country who care about this campaign.

Please, open your home to a hardworking volunteer for marriage equality.

If you can't host a volunteer in your home, you can also help out by donating airline miles to help a volunteer come to Maine through our friends at Travel for Change.

Thanks in advance for opening your home to our hard-working volunteers. Together, we're going to protect marriage equality in Maine!
