About NCAAN
NCAAN is a community network that educates policy makers and all people in North Carolina about HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to reduce new infections, promote quality care and treatment services for North Carolina and mobilize North Carolinians to take action.
Our Goals for 2008
- Prevention To ensure that legislators reject proposed cuts to HIV prevention programs.
- Treatment To make life-saving medicines available to more low-income North Carolinians by raising the eligibility level for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program to the national standard.
Our Programs
- HIV Advocacy Day This annual program brings providers, consumers, and supporters from across the state to the legislature to advocate for our policy goals.
- Grassroots Advocacy and Education NCAAN works with organizations and individuals to educate them about HIV policy issues and engage them to take action.
