Greetings,

Thank you once again for signing up to be a table captain for the 2009 Equality Gala! We have just one week to go and boy are we going to have fun!

If you're still working to fill your table, below is suggested wording for another email you can send to friends and other loved ones over the weekend. We will begin working on the gala seating plan this Monday, so will be getting back to you to let you know who has requested to be seated at your table and/or whom we've assigned to your table.

As always, please feel free to call me personally whenever you have a question or concern. My cell phone number is 919.699.3501.

Thanks!

Best,

Kay

The 2009 Equality Gala is coming up on Saturday, November 14, from 6:30-9 pm at the beautiful Empire Room in downtown Greensboro. I'm a table captain and I hope you can join me at my table. When you register, you can just select my table from the table captain drop-down menu. (You can also register for the 2009 Equality Conference at the same time if you'd like a day full of cutting-edge policy discussions and activist skills training before the evening celebration.)

This year Equality NC Foundation will be honoring Senator Julia Boseman for her courageous leadership in getting the School Violence Prevention Act passed. Special recognition will also be given to the Triad's Kate Mabe, plus we'll have a few words from the Triad's Lennie Gerber. Entertainment will be provided by Raleigh's Kevin & Greg. Kevin and Greg are a fabulous cabaret duo well known for their hilarious renditions of show tunes and popular music, and they'll provide a fun, light-hearted, and energetic interlude during our celebration.

For even more fun, we'll be debuting a new grassroots initiative that will build throughout the next year. We'll be inviting guests to take pictures of folks with I WANT/WE WANT signs that say simple but profound things like I WANT . . . to feel safe at work, I WANT . . . . to marry the person I love, WE WANT . . . a honeymoon, WE WANT . . . to protect our kids. Following the gala, we'll be putting selected I WANT/WE WANT photos together to create a powerful new outreach video that will help us educate the state about equality issues and show legislators the importance of civil fairness and justice.

To register for the conference, gala, or both events, go to equalitync.org/conference. You can also go there for the event schedule, parking info, hotel info, preferred attire, and other details.

I look forward to seeing you at the 2009 Equality Gala!
