Ohio Dept. of Ed: Apply for CDC grant!

Tell the Ohio Department of Education (DOE) they must apply for HIV/AIDS prevention funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Those funds would provide five years of training and technical assistance on implementing evidence-based HIV prevention programs for teachers, school administrators, parents, and school boards across Ohio.

Subject: CDC funds needed here in Ohio

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I write you today to urge you to apply for the funds available from the Centers for Disease Control for evidence-based education and HIV/AIDS prevention.

Gov. Strickland has clearly taken leadership in promoting HIV prevention for all of Ohio's youth at risk, and in promoting evidence-based programs that are founded on sound science. I encourage the Ohio Department of Education to support the Governor's leadership, and apply for CDC funds for HIV prevention -- so that all of Ohio's children are healthier and safer.

Sincerely,
