Help Defeat Prop. 8 and Preserve Our Freedom to Marry in California

In California, a proposed constitutional amendment – known as Proposition 8 – is on the November 4 ballot and would eliminate the recently won freedom to marry for same-sex couples.

With just three weeks until Election Day, polls are showing for the first time that our side – the “No on 8” campaign – is behind by five points, and that efforts by our opponents could be successful.  Not surprisingly, the other side has raised a great deal of money and is blanketing the airwaves in California with messages that defame our relationships and our families.

While the Pride Agenda is working hard to win marriage equality here at home and our efforts with you are focused on changing hearts and minds locally, putting pressure on elected officials to act, and supporting pro-LGBT candidates running for the Assembly and State Senate on November 4, we also know it is important for our community to preserve the hard-won victory in California.

For this reason, we are encouraging you to make a donation to the “No on 8” campaign to help preserve our freedom to marry in California.
