Join us at the 2009 Spring Dinner in Rochester

We invite you to join the Empire State Pride Agenda at our 10th Annual Spring Dinner on Saturday, May 16, 2009.  This year, we will celebrate our accomplishments and the progress we’re continuing to make towards winning equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender New Yorkers and our families. This year is shaping up to be a wonderful event, and we hope that you can be part of it.  We are thrilled to announce the incomparable Carson Kressley as our emcee! In addition, we are recognizing a special couple, Sally and Jamie Whitbeck, with our Community Service Award.  Sally and Jamie, two of our most devoted allies, have been selfless in their dedication to LGBT equality and have been with us through victories and defeats. 

 

And as you have probably heard, New York’s new United States Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, will deliver the keynote address.  As a powerful ally, Gillibrand will help us build support on our priority issues – marriage equality for same-sex couples, banning discrimination against transgender New Yorkers and making schools safe for LGBT youth.  This will be Gillibrand’s first time addressing our community, and we are honored to have her join us.  

 

Critical funds raised from the Spring Dinner go directly to the work we are doing in and around Monroe County to win equality and justice for LGBT New Yorkers and our families.  We have achieved so much since the Spring Dinner first began, but we can’t take anything for granted as we work to ensure protections and equal rights for LGBT New Yorkers.
