Thank your Assemblymember for voting for
marriage!
Yesterday, the New
York State Assembly voted 89-52 to pass the marriage equality
bill (A.7732/O'Donnell). With an increase in
bipartisan support since the Assembly first voted in favor of
marriage for same-sex couples in 2007, the Assembly has once
again proven itself as a leader on civil rights and providing
equality for the LGBT community.
As the excitement
builds as we continue to do the hard work to pass marriage in
the State Senate, it’s important that we take a moment to
take pride in today’s victory. It is also crucial
that we thank the Assemblymembers who voted “yes”
for marriage equality. They have been hearing from you
since we began the fight for marriage, and they need to hear
from you again now that they have stood on the right side of
history on this important issue.
