Time is
running out to get your tickets for the 2009 Fall
Dinner!
The Empire State Pride Agenda is
proud to announce that U.S. Senator Charles
Schumer will deliver the keynote address at this
year’s Fall Dinner on Thursday, October 22. Earlier this year,
Senator Schumer declared his full support of marriage equality
and the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act. At that
time he also pledged to do work with us to help pass the
marriage equality bill here in New York
State.
He is a co-sponsor of both the
trans-inclusive federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act and
the Uniting American Families Act, which would provide equal
rights in immigration law for bi-national same-sex couples. He
also fought to defeat the Federal Marriage Amendment, which
would have written discrimination into the U.S. Constitution,
and he is a key supporter of the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes
Prevention Act.
Also joining us on stage for a very
special performance is Alan Cumming, with Lance
Horne leading the band.
Alan has rallied with us in Albany, and
will now lend his voice to our Fall Dinner with music from his
recently released album!
Finally, DJ Brenda Black will close up the night by
spinning at our post-event reception.
Please join us and be part of this
incredible evening.
We anticipate another sold out room, and
ticket sales close next Friday, October 16 at 5
pm.
Proceeds from the event support the work of the Empire
State Pride Agenda to win equality and justice for LGBT New
Yorkers and our families.
Don’t miss out on this event!
