Author To Answer Same-Sex Union
Questions At UH Educational Forum

Are you ready for a same-sex marriage, civil union or domestic partnership? If so, how can you avoid an ugly divorce? What other questions should you consider?

Those and other questions regarding same-sex partnerships will be addressed by Frederick Hertz, the author of Making it Legal: Same Sex Marriage, Domestic Partnerships and Civil Unions, during an educational forum on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 6:30 - 8 p.m., at the William S. Richardson School of Law (2515 Dole Street, Classroom 1, Honolulu).

Hosted by Family Equality Coalition and University of Hawaii Lambda Law Student Organization, some of the topics to be covered include:
  • Same-sex couples should have the right to marry or legally register - but whether or not to do so is a different question altogether.
  • Answers to all the essential questions that same-sex couples need to discuss before walking down the aisle.
  • Best strategies for avoiding an ugly gay divorce, and describes what plans every couple - married or not - needs to make to deal with the possibilities of illness or death.
There is no charge, but RSVPs are encouraged as seating is limited. RSVP to info@familyequalitycoalition.org.

Family Equality Coalition is dedicated to creating a Hawaii in which gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people and their families have full equality in all areas of the law.

Lambda Law Student Organization seeks to foster communication regarding issues relating to persons of diverse sexual orientation and to bring greater awareness to the law school community of these issues.
