Urge Your House Member to Support Extending the Ryan White Program
4 Weeks and Counting: Urge Your House Member to Sign “Dear Colleague” Letter in Support of Extension
The Ryan White Program provides crucial funding for community based services for people living with HIV/AIDS. The vast majority of funding for HIV services throughout the state of Georgia comes through the Ryan White program. Without Congressional action, this important program will end on September 30 of this year and more than $72 million in federal funds currently coming to Georgia could be jeopardized.
Urgent action that you can take to safeguard the Ryan White Program:
Get Your House Member to sign the "Dear Colleague" letter urging a three-year extension to Ryan White.
Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) is circulating a sign-on letter among his House of Representatives colleagues in support of a three-year Ryan White Program extension that incorporates changes put forward in the community consensus document.
Urge your member in the House of Representatives to sign this letter and demonstrate their commitment to the Ryan White Program and those it serves in your community.

Subject: Support an Extension of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
I write to ask you to co-sign the "Dear Colleague" letter that has been initiated by Rep. Hank Johnson, which calls on Chairman Waxman and Ranking Member Barton to pass swiftly a three-year extension of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act. The current law expires on September 30th, 2009, and, without an extension, thousands of low-income Georgians living with HIV/AIDS will lose critical benefits.
Please contact Scott Goldstein in Congressman Hank Johnson's office at scott.goldstein@mail.house.gov or 5-1605 for more information or if you would like to sign on as a cosponsor.
Thank you for your support of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Sincerely,
|
