Marriage Discrimination Bill officially introduced during special legislative session

The Marriage Discrimination Amendment – House Joint Resolution 3 – was officially introduced on Tuesday to the 2009 Special Session of the Indiana General Assembly.  Authored by State Representatives Eric Turner (Republican – Marion) and David Cheatham (Democrat – North Vernon), HJR-3 has been assigned to the House Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.

Call on Speaker Bauer to reject this nonsense.

Subject: Reject HJR3

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

House Joint Resolution 3 (Marriage) is nothing more than a diversion from the real purpose of this special legislative session enacting a new state budget and an attempt to fundraise at the expense of Hoosier taxpayers. Please reject HJR-3 and focus on the real needs of Indiana's citizens.

Sincerely,
