Greetings,
Week
two of the First Annual Gay & Lesbian Film Series starts
Friday at Village 8 Theaters. This week's features are "The
Witnesses" and "Kiss the Bride."
"The Witnesses" from French
director André Téchiné features an ensemble
of characters living in Paris at the dawn of the AIDS epidemic.
The film follows 20-year-old Manu's relationships: with his
sister Julie, patron and friend Adrien, married couple Medhi (a
police officer) and Sarah (a writer and new mother). Their
entangled involvements force all of them to question their
assumptions and confront their true desires.
"Kiss the Bride" is an ambitious
romantic comedy starring Tori Spelling, Philipp Karner, and
James O'Shea. Matt and Ryan have lost touch since their
more-than-friendship in high school. When he hears Ryan is
marrying a woman, Matt sets out for his hometown to rescue his
old flame.

series on the Village 8 website.

The Ampersand symbolizes the solidarity we are
building through Friends & Family, and suggests the
inclusiveness we are working toward. It reflects the idea that
no one individual, legislator, organization, or city can carry
all the water for equality. Our success lies in our
solidarity.
