In 2004, a large percentage of funds used to fight the anti-marriage amendment came from out of state. We were grateful for that support then, and now we have an opportunity to return the favor. KFA is a proud member of the Equality Federation, the umbrella organization for state-based fairness work. We need your help!  Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans are under attack in California and Florida. 

The outcome of these ballot measures will affect our work for equality in EVERY state, including the state where you live.  Please join Equality Federation to stop these anti-gay laws!

In California, a proposed constitutional amendment would eliminate the right to marry for same-sex couples, permanently denying equal rights to LGBT couples by requiring that they be treated differently by the state.  Winning here could be the marriage equality tipping point in this country, but the right wing is outspending us and we could lose the right to marry in California without your help.

In Florida, pollsters say it is too close to call the outcome of the proposed constitutional amendment that would take health insurance and family benefits away from gay partners and unmarried straight couples.  Every dollar and every volunteer phone call can make all the difference in this national battleground state. 

How can you help?  There are 2 simple things you can do:

1)  Make a donation today to the campaigns in California and Florida.

2)  Volunteer for a Phone Bank in California and Florida to call voters and ask them to support equality.  It’s easy and fun, and you can do this from your own living room.  To participate, sign-up online with the campaigns:  No On Prop 8 in California and Vote No On 2 in Florida.

You can make a difference in the fight for equal rights.
