Dear Supporter,

In eleven days, we will go to the polls to take part in what is the most historic federal election we are likely to be a part of during our life time.  Isn’t it exciting?  There is a lot at stake in this election for all Americans, but let’s not kid ourselves - fair-minded Kentuckians have an even bigger stake in the outcome of November 4th

Check out this side-by-side comparison of where the national Republican and Democratic Parties formally stand on issues important to our community. Federal legislative issues such as the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), policies such as the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and future judicial decisions regarding our family relationships hang in the balance and can have significant influence on our quality of life as gay Americans living in Kentucky.

Here in Kentucky, 73% of Kentuckians oppose workplace discrimination of gays, but only 10% of our state legislature is willing to take a stand to protect gay Kentuckians. Progress on our issues in Kentucky rests on our ability to elect a fair-minded legislature. Stay tuned for information and recommendations on Kentucky legislative candidates!

We can create change in Kentucky and across America, but we must do so very intentionally. Our voice must ring through loud and clear. Power is never given. You have a voice, make it count!

In solidarity,
Your KFA Team

P.S. As a Kentuckian, you have the right to preview a sample ballot before going to the polls.

P.S.S. After you vote next Tuesday, come Celebrate Democracy and Diversity at the 4th Annual KFA Out & About Gala on Friday, Nov. 7 at Louisville’s 21 c Museum and Hotel.

Ampersand. The Ampersand symbolizes the solidarity we are building through Friends & Family, and suggests the inclusiveness we are working toward. It reflects the idea that no one individual, legislator, organization, or city can carry all the water for equality. Our success lies in our solidarity.
