Greetings,

Kentucky Fairness Alliance (KFA) is pleased to share with you news regarding our former Executive Director Christina Gilgor.  Ms. Gilgor has accepted the position of Finance Director for Lieutenant Governor Dr. Dan Mongiardo’s 2010 campaign for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Jim Bunning.

While KFA acknowledges that Lt. Gov. Dr. Mongiardo has not always been someone that the fair-minded community could count on, things change!  It is counter productive to encourage change and then blast people for such change after their public views come in line with those of the fair-minded community.  We must be able to reward people who come around on the issues we care so deeply about.

The national economic crisis and election of President Obama create opportunities for progress not seen in decades, but will advocacy groups and foundations seize the moment?  KFA answers – yes!  What about you?

Lt. Gov. Dr. Mongiardo now has a tremendous opportunity to show Kentuckians that he too can stand for fairness.  We encourage all of our members to begin right now taking seriously the upcoming 2010 U.S. Senate race and all the contenders.

KFA is proud to see Ms. Gilgor taking this step and seizing the moment.  Ms. Gilgor has a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Her experience with the General Electric Corporate Audit Staff inspired her to bring aggressive performance and outcome management procedures to the public sphere.  She has experience managing a ten county community mental health facility with a $16 million annual budget.  For the five years prior to joining KFA, she operated a successful private consulting firm through which she provided political campaign management and fundraising training and implementation for local, state and federal campaigns.  She served as Executive Director of KFA for three years.  She lives with her partner and their two young sons in Lexington, KY.

Please join us in acknowledging Ms. Gilgor’s hard work at KFA and encourage her to continue advocating for fairness as she begins her new position.

In fairness,
Your KFA Team!

P.S. – Make sure Wednesday, Feb. 25 is on your calendar as Kentuckians Value Fairness returns to Frankfort.  More news on this will be distributed tomorrow.
