Greetings,

SB 68 is moving forward.

The Senate Judiciary Committee Chairperson, Sen. Stivers, called a surprise meeting just moments ago to hear two bills.  One of those was Senate Bill 68 (“Divisive Child Welfare Act”).

Sadly, the Committee passed the bill favorably after hearing testimony only from the bill's sponsor, Sen. Tapp, and a representative of the Family Foundation of Kentucky.

Committee Chairperson Stiver’s decision to hear this harmful bill follows opposition from across the Commonwealth.  Groups speaking out against Sen. Tapp’s bill include the Kentucky Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, and the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.

Please act now.  You should CALL the Legislative Message Line at 800-372-7181 and LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE OF OPPOSITION TO SB 68 for your Senator AND Senate Leadership.  This is painless and takes only a few minutes.

ACT NOW - we have everything to lose if you do not.

In fairness,
Your KFA Team!

P.S. - Check out the $5.3 million dollar price tag that the UCLA Williams Institute estimates for SB 68 if passed.  Can KY afford this?
