The Fourth Annual MEGA Family Weekend! 

July 24-26th, 2009

For the fourth year, families from all over Georgia and the South will gather for the MEGA Family Project’s 4th Annual Family Weekend, a weekend of fun, adventure, and friendship. MEGA’s 4th Annual Family Weekend will provide a safe and fun space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender couples, parents, their children, and our friends and family to gather on a beautiful beach destination. It is an idyllic opportunity for our children to meet other children with LGBT parents, and for parents to meet other parents and share experiences. The weekend will be filled with opportunities to celebrate LGBT families and for families to make connections with other families like theirs.

Sample Weekend Activities: We will host special dinner outings, a welcome reception, a beach base camp, sandcastle contest, group dolphin tour, pool parties, baby & toddler areas on the beach, family dance, silent auction, cookout, and a special 2009 Family Weekend t-shirt for each registered attendee. A more detailed schedule for the weekend is available on the MEGA website. 

Accomodation Information:  This year we will be organizing activities around the Brass Rail Condominiums and the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort, which are next to one another. If you would like to share a condominium with another family, please contact us ASAP so we can help you match with another family. The condominiums are very nice and can be cheaper than a hotel if you share with another family. E-mail Kathy@megafamilyproject.org if you are interested in sharing a condominium. Otherwise, you can stay at the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort or any of the other hotels on the island. There is a list of accomodation on the MEGA Family Weekend website.

About Registration: If you have paid your 2009 membership dues or are a MEGA Family Champion, you will receive a registration discount. All participants registered by June 30th will  receive a special MEGA Family Vacation 2009 t-shirt. Please register only one family at a time under these registration rates. Nannies and immediate family members are included in the registration price. Otherwise, we ask that each family pay the registration fee.
