Stone Mountain Laser Show, October
24th, 4-9:45pm
Join MEGA for a night at the Stone
Mountain Laser show. We will meet on the lawn to picnic before
the show, so this is a great opportunity to get to know others
from the area. We will begin meeting around 4pm, and will host
blue and yellow balloons to mark our area near the top of the
hill (closest to the building). If you can, please drop by
around 4pm to drop off your blanket so we can save a space for
you on the lawn if you are going to do other fun things in the
park. If you wait too long, we can't ensure that there will be
space for you. If you have any trouble locating the group before
6:30pm, please call Kathy at 404-808-3350. If it is raining,
look to the website home page to determine if it has been
cancelled.
Halloween Party, October 31st at
Atlanta Pride, 10-11:45am
Meet us in the park at our booth in
Blue (B)-21. Across from our booth will be the children's

parade from 10-11:15, and following the party will be children's
music by Heidi Hensley and carnival style games. Home Depot will
be offering a special workshop for children! We are asking
families to contribute $10 per family to help pay for the
Halloween party snacks, goodies, and activities. Click here for more information and to
register!
Atlanta Pride Parade, Sunday,
November 1st, 1pm (set up by noon)
The MEGA Family Project will once again march in the Pride
Parade to show off our beautiful families and to march for
equality for LGBT families. We need people who are willing to
walk in the parade to support MEGA and help raise awareness of
the MEGA Family Project. Each marcher will be given a MEGA
Family t-shirt. If you've never done it before, let this be your
year. It can be quite fun, and this year we won't have to worry
about the blazing heat. E-mail Kathy@megafamilyproject.org
if you are interested in joining us. Come represent the family
equality movement!
Maybe Baby, November 12th,
7-9pm
Meet with MEGA's Executive Director
to begin your preliminary journey to explore the options
available to LGBT people in starting a family. This will be an
intimate discussion about the basics potential parents should
know before embarking on their parenting journey. Learn about
some of the real issues you will face, how much does it really
cost, and get resources to start exploring your journey. This is
for anyone who wants to begin exploring the parenting journey.
It is meant to give you some basic information about your
options for starting a family, dispel myths, and give you a
place to discuss what you are thinking and feeling. A much more
extensive course is offered through our Creating A Family
workshop. Registration will be limited so we can keep this an
intimate discussion. Click here to register!
