On Tuesday, September 15 Metro Council takes the third and final vote on the non-discrimination ordinance that would protect Metro government employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The momentum is good, and we want to keep things moving in a positive direction by thanking the supportive Council Members who voted YES on 2nd reading.

I am a resident of Davidson County and I want to express my gratitude to you for voting for BL2009-502, the non-discrimination ordinance, on 2nd reading. Job discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity has no place in Metro government. People throughout our city support you in the position you have taken. Your leadership sends a strong message that Nashville is a welcoming city and that our Metro employees deserve the best.
